Spanish Dog Breeds
While Spain was the place of origin for many dog breeds, quite a few of them are yet to be legitimized on a global scale by international kennel clubs. These dogs used to be bred for everything ranging from usage in war to dog fights. However, nowadays, they are used more peacefully as companions and pets.
Several Spanish breeds, like the Galgo Español or the Podenco Andaluz, have become rarer over time due to their mistreatment by hunters who breed them for and release them after the hunting season.
