African Dog Breeds

When we think of African animals, the first things that come to mind are lions, giraffes, and elephants. The continent has also played its part in giving birth to some of the best dog breeds known today.

Africa is home to big dogs like the South African breed Boerboel and the lion-hunting breed Rhodesian Ridgeback. Two of the world’s most popular small dog breeds, the Basenji and Coton de Tulear, also come from here.
